St.Mary's: Located off of Rt.11. A mountain Stream. Native Brook Trout and a few Wild Rainbows. Best fishing is spring, autumn and winter. Located in the Wilderness Area. Major hurricane damage in fall 2003. Middle section very difficult to fish as stream was broken into multiple fingers. Long hike to falls. Difficult hiking. Best fished in the spring, winter and fall. Autumn fishing dependant on September rains. We guide on all the stretches of St. Mary's where the better trout population is. The better days are six hours out. We have fished from the most lower section to well above all three falls. |

Rose River: Located in the Shenandoah National Park. A mountain stream. Good water flow year around. Best fishing in spring, autumn and winter. Native Brook trout. A hard and long hike to the better secluded sections. A great place on very warm days as the lower temperatures are a welcome once late-April and May hit. Plan for a full day including driving time.
