Why a Deposit? Very simply, it takes time, effort and gasoline money to host a fly fishing outing. Unfortunately there are a few anglers who cancel at the last minute. Some of these cancellations have been as we are getting ready to get in our vehicle to meet the customer, so there is no possibility of a reschedule for someone else who was denied this same time slot because of a, literally, last minute cancellation. Other anglers, mainly beginners, take it upon themselves to determine, whether weather conditions will make angling a possibility. We have been ready for customers at 6am (after being up at 4:45am), only to have the customer call and say they're heading back home or to their hotel because of weather. The vast majority of time, the weather turns out to be perfect for the rest of the day. We of course, have now lost hours of time, gas out of tank, and no possibility of giving this time slot to someone else because there was no lead time involved for a reschedule with another customer. Therefore, we have been forced to require a fifty-percent (50%) deposit. If Wild Mountain Trout Fly Fishing/Virginia Smallmouth has to cancel for any reason, you will receive a full refund. If you the customer cancels more than ten (10) days prior to your scheduled date, you will receive a refund minus $50. If you cancel or are a "no show" less than ten days or the day of your appointment, there will be a 50% refund. For anglers who schedule less than ten (10) days before their appointment, a check for 50% of the amount must still be mailed. We
sincerely hope that you will and can understand our situation and why this
has become a necessity.
